Cutting Faces

Today I learnt how to use the cut faces tool which again was a very simple tool to use.  First I simply selected the cut faces tool from the High Poly Modelling tab.

After selecting the cut faces tool I clicked on my shape and it brought up a white line on the screen.  While still pressing the left button on my mouse I was able to change the angle of the white line and once I was happy with the angle of the line I would simply let go of the left button on my mouse and it would then create a new face or faces to my shape.  After this I will be able to edit the size and scale of the faces or I can also edit the new edges on the faces of the object.  However I am not just limited to just cutting the object just once.  I can cut the object several times and then shape it whatever way that I want.

Building Bridges

Today I learnt how build bridges on objects.  For this I used the square that I had used previously for learning how to remove the faces of shapes.  First I selected the tool in the High Poly Modelling tab.

I then selected two of the edges around the face of the square which I had previously deleted and then clicked on the bridge tool again.  This then created a new face on the square, this face now has 5 new divisions that I can select and edit the size and/or shape of the face with.

Or alternatively I could add or delete some of these divisions to add some more precision to the face.  I edited my divisions to just one division.

One I did this it then left me with one division on the face of the cube that I could move and scale as demonstrated by my screenshots.
